Thermostats have also come a long way since the old Honeywell dial thermostats that were originally installed in a lot the area’s homes – and that we still see today when servicing or replacing older systems.

These three thermostats are easy to use, can control most systems (up to three stages heating including dual fuel control with an outdoor sensor) and provide enough customization for most homeowners. They are basically the same unit, so we usually use the Lennox with Lennox systems, Trane with Trane systems and the Honeywell with all other brands.

Lennox has two other models that are worth mentioning: their iComfort control and ComfortSense 7000. These thermostat provide even more control and functionality and help homeowners get the maximum performance out of Lennox's top-of-the-line systems. The iComfort control requires a compatible indoor unit.

Zoning

While we certainly encourage it in new construction where the upgrade costs are much lower, the harsh reality is that it is mostly impractical to convert an existing ductwork system into a zoned system – there are some exceptions however, so it never hurts to ask.  When working with Lennox’s Signature Series furnaces and air handlers, the Lennox Harmony III system is a must for proper operation of the variable speed fan.  We also use Aprilaire and Arzel for zoning solutions, depending on the application.
